HbA1c (Rs.300/-)
HbA1c, also known as Hemoglobin A1c or A1c, is glycosylated hemoglobin or glycohemoglobin in which the glucose molecule present in the blood non-enzymatically binds to hemoglobin. HbA1c test reflects those RBC that are present in the blood at the time of test and measures average blood glucose concentration over 3-4 months. This gives an indication of long-term blood glucose control which serves as a regular monitoring tool if a person has been diagnosed with diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association, this test is mandatory for diabetic patients and should be performed four times a year. HbA1c test is available at a discounted rate, along with the home collection.

Fasting blood glucose, Post Meal blood sugar, Random blood glucose , C-peptide, Insulin Fasting, Insulin PP, Fructosamine, Blood Ketone, Glucose tolerance or challenge test, Kidney function test
A fasting blood glucose test measures your blood sugar after fasting overnight (8-12 hours). HbA1c test results reflect the average amount of sugar attached to haemoglobin over the duration of 2 to 3 months (Typical lifetime of red blood cells). This helps us identify whether there have been fluctuations in blood sugar levels that were not caught in the fasting or random blood sugar tests.
For people with diabetes, this test is recommended more often, mostly every 3 to 6 months, for the rest, it is recommended to get this test at least once in 12 months.
The HbA1c test is proven to reduce complications in patients with pre-diabetes and diabetes by diagnosing the condition of the patient and estimating the risk at early stages.
An HbA1C value of less than 5.7 percent is considered normal, between 5.7% to 6.4% is considered prediabetic and 6.5 or higher is considered diabetic. If the HbA1c test results are high, it means the blood sugar levels were not under control. The higher the value of HbA1c, the bigger is the risk of developing complications associated with diabetes.
Regular HbA1c monitoring can help you lower the risk of complications, during pregnancy and minimize the risk of the baby growing excessively large causing challenges during delivery.
